Tiktok is the new hit sensation to hit the lip sync music app genre. Now tiktok isn’t a new idea there are many apps just like it, Triller,dub smash and vine just to name a few but why is Tiktok the one to make it’s way above the rest what gives Tiktok the edge it needs to stay relevant and ahead of it’s competition. Tiktok does many things right but one thing they have the best of and is it’s biggest strength is the fact of it’s timing and the people that use it. I feel like these two things go hand in hand. The fact that we are in such social age especially when it comes to preteens Tiktok had the perfect audience and makers to help the app thrive. The makers often on the app are the same age as the people that watch them so inevitably they know whats cool or trending and due to that fact they form inside jokes with people the same age as them and it makes them feel connected helping the app stay fun and fresh. Now also on a more psychological or science look on way it is an app to stay is it forms a bridge of social networks because of the inside joke thing everyone gets along as well as it being a decentralized platform where anyone can become famous off of it really helps give motivation to people to come back to the app and upload more content. now Tiktok may be annoying as an app seeing all these teens doing “renegades” and other silly dances you cant deny the bonds it’s creating and the powerhouse its become as an app maintaining a household name amongst teens and adults even staring in super bowl commercials.
